Moolaade

What I am going to write now might actually seem inappropriate for this blog. This blog is for recruiters by a recruiter.... but I am taking some linience.


I am a outspoken Feminist. Recently I saw a movie "Moolaade" on TV5 Monde (French channel). This movie disturbed me a lot. Even in 21st century evils like FGM are very prevalent in many parts of the world. It is a shame we are not able to do anything about this. As is the case with many feminist issues FGM has deep roots in social culture and it is very difficult to overcome them.


What required is a big change of heart from the male population. Every man has soft corner, but does not have the will to take a stance.


Key issue I guess is MONEY. Everything in life is inter-related and directly related to money. So Man thinks that giving freedom to women to choose their life will result in loss of money. This is exactly the reason why this looks like a loosing battle.


Most irritating thing is Governments all over the world (except for few) are against women. This includes India. India has multiple laws conserning women based on religion, family status etc., Why cant a democracy accept such a simple fact of equality bothers me.


It comes back to money and control. If you cant convince you have to confuse or complicate. That is exactly what Indian law has done in women's issues.
